Heartbreak - 2 Poem by David Beckham

Heartbreak - 2

Rating: 4.1

Find an audience and reach out to relevance
Narrate the plight, the agony, the road blocks
Share the disappointment and let-out the ills and worms
Let-out, no-good-thoughts that sends your head to free fall
Your marauding thoughts, falling free like leafs in fall
Meandering free through thin air
Causing you to squirm at the thought of what has become
A mockery of your trust in one person
A mockery of your beliefs
Is it pity that frees the soul?
Is it lies that kill the heart?
Or am I attracted to penance, in renunciation of my sin

You see, the mirror is a perfect friend
Reminding me of not a perfect world I see
The look on my face, pale
Pale in comparison to the night's full moon, sprinkled with stars and sparkling with hope
A face filled with hope hours before his fiancee became his mistress
'Hello, Mr. Mirror, I thought I was the perfect man there was? '
And tears.
Oh, how ugly I look
With the sparkle replaced with a frown in the mirror
Tears on my face, clearly not helping
My limp knees that now succumb to the realities
'You were never perfect, will never be'

Give me an audience to reach out to relevance
If my mirror, my advocate, 'please listen'
My face, full of expressions, bold in spirit to crush out the virtual boos in my ears
The whisper, 'you just lost her' rings out loud
Hands over face, 'just make it go away. Go away! '
Fear. Cries. Tears. Tremors. Shivers
With all that, cheat life and smile.
Catch a stare in the mirror and see if it helps
A cheating friend is a cheating friend, accept that
The mirror don't lie
Say goodbye to yesterday and just move on
Tomorrow will be a better day

The mirror has several meanings. self contemplation, reflection, Narcissism. For me the best translation is Oscar Wilde. Very good your poem. reminded me of The Picture of Dorian Gray.

Such raw honesty written with such passion for life with all it's faults, you deliver a great message that none of us can be perfect but we can try to be good decent people! ! Great write! !
