Heartache Poem by Ragy Sandid

Heartache

Tick tock, it’s the clock
Time to eat some artichoke
Time to leave trickles in the aorta
Get the heart out of trouble, sorta

The mind remembers the imagery
Then transforms the scenes to 3D
And the heart holds the blood to let it go
To allow for the eye’s stream to flow

But both old now, it’s just a drop
From one eye, the other makes it stop
Just like the heart to let some good stay
And find a way to survive another day

Now the faces look familiar yet fair
After they seemed each to come with pear
The new apple that they let you bite
The tell you how bitter it was to your delight

Now the heart pines for a pineapple
With coconut, these things one can grapple
Pinacolada you get a mix of old and new
of did and didn’t happened, of the heart’s
direction to form a new sinew

A baby’s smile, an old man’s hue
