Heart Of Shadows Poem by Sheldon Carruthers

Heart Of Shadows

The shadows fall fast about me
I can no longer see daylight
The darkness cloaks the midnight sky
The cold of the night consumes me
The lies they told you now seem worthless
The love that never lasted
The wedding day that never came
The unborn babies that you never named
Oh you are a twisted fate as mine
For love is sent to tease us then make us lose our minds
