Heart And Mind Poem by Tracee Olga

Heart And Mind

Heart wanted it badly
Head refused profusely
So heart and mind fought ugly
Heart fought tenderly
Mind did it reasonably
Heart slap was compassionate
Her approach passionate
Pride and anger all she ate
Gracefully condoned no hate
Selflessly handled the debate
Gently, it did want to agitate
Patiently anticipating to celebrate
Gladly ready to for go any record of wrong
She never fails she is strong
Envy and strife, she dragged down along
With orgies and lust with a song
Cleared her path so long
A waiting its triumph with confidence
She never fails, she knew

Mind fought harshly
Reasoned so ruthlessly
Pushing buttons she called reality checks
Mind calculated risk
Weighed loses
Refused to accommodate feelings
Without mercy she threw fact punches
Head begun thumping
Body grew weary and tired
Enough already! Body had to pick sides
To end the members squabbles

Bodies overlooked, compromised and choose
Unimpressed heart and mind were back at it again
Back and forth they fought
Reasoning with facts, thinking with emotions
Then the remedies come through spirit
And peace was restored
But spirit choose neither heart or mind
And so once in a while the battle rise
But then spirit always comes in
And peace is restored
