Heart 2 Poem by GRANT FRASER

Heart 2

I have a heart
and then I don't
have one,

then a thought
comes,

yeah...

delayed reaction!

and then the idea,

like a power point,
and you giving the gist
of what you see,

If I had a heart
I wouldn't think twice
about things,

but I do,
yet it's not
big enough,

to merit
what it is I want
to do...

which is,
not to deceive myself,

I mean we're all
woeful and downtrodden,
by the evils of money,

but the heart
wants and doesn't want
it either,

what can you want
when there's nothing
else worth wanting for?

the heart,
I think I lost,
is, yet doesn't give
up,

until it stops,

or I tell it,

you beat for me,
I'll do the talking...

trust,
that's what got stolen,

from everything
and everyone...
