Healing Lullabies Poem by Ernestine Northover

Healing Lullabies

Rating: 5.0

Rain down on me pure gentle drops of peace,
Let me descend beneath your cleansing balm.
Infusing the soul with a potent sense of calm,
Giving the mind, a wonderful release.

From all the stresses of these modern days,
When everything is scurrying, to and fro,
Serenity is the seed we need to sew,
To travel onwards in contented ways.

Lift up the eyes to search the limitless skies,
Knowing in space, a total silence reigns.
Where into its vastness vanish worldly strains,
And God's heaven sends down, its healing lullabies.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

A flowing lullaby to a troubled world that closes its ears to your profound message. May it begin to sing in all the hearts of the troubled souls on this planet. Beautiful imagery, rhyme and poem... 10 Karin Anderson

That first line, 'Rain down on my pure gentle drops of peace, ' seems to say it all. The search for that quiet time in our lives is vital, isn't it? Peace, and especially today when death and destruction seem to be all around us, is hard to find. Thank you for sharing just a bit of your peace with us.
