Healing A Tragedy Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Healing A Tragedy

A stately tree stood above all others
giving a sense of reassurance and power
each day… leading to tomorrow, towering...
giving focus for celebrating each hour

Thunderstorms commonly occur here
without malice… they rage haphazardly
Today there is cause for immediate concern
A firry bolt has struck confidence directly

The darkness of night hides charred remains
Morning rays invite the song of a stray bird
celebrating a new day; giving renewed praise
Across a limitless landscape, hope is mirrored

New growth emerges beneath charred limbs
Vines and ferns appear as in Eden's garden...
Flourishing beneath the remains of wisdom
Gloom fades, as a kiss of dew grants a pardon
