Head Over Heels [revised] Poem by Margaret Alice Second

Head Over Heels [revised]

Arrived at the beach, ran into the high-tide sea
to be turned head over heels and washed back
to the shore whiplashed with sand all over me,
smashed while tumbling in the waves, teaching
me the rule to be obeyed on every beach: wait
for low tide before you chargeee into the waves

Back at the flat I rinsed buckets of sand out of
my pants deciding to play it safe before entering
the fray - it made my day when I received sweet
chocolate treats from the kids; with potatoes and
runner beans on the stove and NatGeoWild on
TV, it might become a perfect holiday…
