Head And Tail Poem by Chris Jibero

Head And Tail

Rating: 5.0

HEAD

Standing upright
and touching high heavens
is love in its full glory
stronger than a grand cocktail
cuddling one another in cheerfulness
in a blissful barrel
portered in superfluous superlatives
endearments positive
abundant possessive attachments
that send heads to dizzying peaks
where they rock and roll
my gem, my life
the apple of my eyes, my angel
my friend, my honey pie
my honey, my precious jewel
my sun, my moon, my star
my tea, my sugar
my pillow, my day
my baby, my joy
my soul mate, my better half
my everything rolled up
into one delicious sausage roll
in reckoning next to only
the creator, this is love beheld
at its glory, clothed with accolades
beautiful and salacious
just the head, not the tail

Tail

ear-bursting appendages
dug up from the pit of hell
a tail that wags no more
a tail tucked in
in revulsion and hate
depicted in vitrolic and unprintable words
all possessiveness cast overboard
like Jonah in the holy writ
bad luck, serpent
parasite, impotent
worst mistake, darkness
beast, useless
pig, foolish
wicked, childish
devil, pauper
bag of deceit, loafer
promiscuous, timid
mad, frigid
unproductive, lazy
uncaring, crazy
mother's baby, dog
irresponsible, rogue
horror, nightmare
interminable invectives
that's love on the decline
the flip side
love gone sour
a bitter concoction
a potent poison
just the tail
that wags no more.
