He Was Leaving Poem by Neela Nath Das

He Was Leaving

My eyes filled with tear
But my voice was choked.
There's one wish which
I couldn't utter as I
Had no right to say- -
'This is the right place
We are in, friend, stay
And have fun drinking
The beverage of love.
He was leaving and I
Heard his unheard pain.'
His song I wouldn't hear
Anymore, I swear this thought
Was humming in my brain.
The lone poet took his
Path then and walked
Away along the woods.
The magic of his words
And flow with magnetic spell,
Would be here no more
And turned to a tale
More fair than a fairy tale.
