He Has Another Name Too, Ram!
The mason, carpenter and others call the boy
Who does the petty labor and helper in a way
As ‘Hey! Dumb fellow' without realizing his feelings
He has no other way to show his mental sufferings!
While he takes rest after the lunch break,
He writes his name over the heaped up sand forsake
As ‘Ram', he stares at it for some time,
And erases it with disgust keeping his face grim!

அவனுக்கு இன்னொரு பெயரும் உண்டு!
சித்தாள் வேலை செய்கிற அவனை
கொத்தனார், தச்சர் உள்ளிட்ட
வீட்டு வேலை பார்ப்பவர்கள்
'டே... ஊமையா' என்றுதான்
அழைப்பார்கள்.
மதியச் சாப்பாட்டுக்குப் பிறகு
ஓய்வு எடுக்கும்போது
வீடு கட்டக்
குவிக்கப்பட்டு இருக்கும் மணலில்
'ராமு' என்ற தன் பெயரை எழுதி
கொஞ்ச நேரம் வெறித்துவிட்டு
