Have You Ever Poem by soren Barrett

Have You Ever

Have you ever smelled the perfume of rain,
as it falls on grounds naked breast,
heard a leaf sing in whispers,
or been serenaded by an angel with feathers dressed?
Have you been made love to by the undulating sea,
or been carried in the maternal belly of a storm?
Have you been kissed softly by the lips of a fog,
or laid tenderly under snow's blanket so warm,
been embraced by the comforting arms of night,
listened to frogs and crickets enchant you with a bedtime story
or with child like wonder, looked into the mirror of a lake,
reflecting all of heavens glory?
If you have lived long in the grip of man,
you may think all this very odd
but I have been held in the hand,
seen the face and heard the voice of God
