Have We Become Impotent
Have we become impotent?
Or lack the capability at present
Is the present leadership coward?
Failed to take into account and look forward
The answer can be found
Through their speeches when go round
No remorse or regret for the dead
It is impossible now to degrade further
Since decades we have tolerated
Notorious child who has hated
Our existence on the religion basis
Do we still go and understand their thesis?
We are true federal in character
That is understandable factor
But where does it lead for our honor?
The crisis, that has affected us, is major
Have trade or no trade
Let them face their own fate and fade
We are here to live with peace
But if compelled they too will not be at ease
Let heads be not counted for heads
Humanity still cries for the dead
If soldiers are meant to be sacrificed
Let us see that holy land stands promised
Its boundary may be protected
In haste nothing may be acted
But there will not be any leniency
If time comes to make them scary
They too will live under constant fear
Pain and agony may be equal to bear
We are tolerant but not coward
The dead may have their reward

Sadiqullah Khan Pami Jane Tennant In a tremendously moving work such as this, I cannot bring myself to offer up any type of critique, only say this one thing which is what I have said before on forcing rhyme...sometimes if you can't find the word to smoothly rhyme, perhaps assonance or no rhyme is best. Having said that, which comes from my own training in learning and teaching poetry, your poem is very noble and deeply stirring. Loss of life in situations of wartime are always deeply disturbing, especially in light of how capricious the leaders are of the lives given to serve. It is my own firm belief that the leaders of various governments should be forced to fight their own battles instead of hiding behind the blood of the innocent...oh but wait...that would mean...GASP...and end to war! ! ! !
