Battered by the winds of time
Crushed by the weight of love
Kicked by devil down below
And yet hugged by god above

Faith protects and heals us all,
Mends the soul and warms the heart
Smothers the bad, reveals the good,
Makes whole which was torn apart.

Slapped upside the head of life
Discarded and thrown away,
Walked upon as if not there
Praying for just one more day
