Hassan Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Hassan

In dishdasheh as Arabs
He limps and walks with cap
I know him and, Arab he is not

This shop and other one
To sheikhs and bazaars
He goes and, hand is long

Extended, he is a beggar
Not needy, makes money
He has shops; in Ardabil

They see him and say:
Here comes the rich man
And how he is welcomed

What a life
Hassan begs, Ali cheats and steals,
Dies of hunger; the man of dignity
