Harlequin Of Moods Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Harlequin Of Moods

Have you heard the howling winds
Haunt and hurry forth their hazy songs,
As though hours will soon have their silence
So they huff and heave heartily in force?

A moment's havoc of haughty hardihood,
Hammering heavy down the ground, its helpless prey,
Humbling Earth all huddled in its hiatus
Such hectic humor, a vain caprice at play.

Nature's henchman headstrong in its haste
Hankers through helpless green and grain,
Lifting up the sky's halcyon hem so chaste,
A harlequin of moods, quite harnessed by rain.

Yet in time, it soon hobbles rather spent.
Its high-strung temper held at bay from harshness
Hindered by the weather's calm and harmony
It's hymns now hum a hopeful gentleness.
