Hark An Angel Speaks

Your graceful arcadian voice
That surrenders
Packets of words
Clustered together
In idyllic sentences

Rhapsodized
In your nightingale voice
Bequeathing psalms and madrigals
To my anemic soul

For when you speak my love
I don't hear words of a mortal
But the intonation
Of an angel

Poem of the Day

poet Henry David Thoreau

Conscience is instinct bred in the house,
Feeling and Thinking propagate the sin
By an unnatural breeding in and in.
I say, Turn it out doors,
