Hard Talk - Poem by Mark Bratlie

Love you
and love to talk freely
(while shadows lurk inside)

Trust you
and feel so ateasy
(being vulnerable terrifies)

Sharing with you
dark parts of me
(afraid you will love me less)

Wanting you
to know the real me
(putting it to the test)

Risking with you
and laying it bare
(hoping you come to my aid)

Holding you
and feeling quite safe
(as shadows start to fade)
