Har Hathelee Par - On Every Palm Poem by Hardik Vaidya

Har Hathelee Par - On Every Palm

Ped ke Har patte kee hatheleeyon Ko sahlaa kar
Unpar kheechee lakeeron ke rahasyaa se aachambhit
Madhosh main Unme mohobbat Ko dhoondtaa hoon.
Koun see lakeer dil kee hai, Koun see maya kee
Kiskee kisse padee hai, yahee guthee hai suljhaanee
Patte mujh par hasten hain,
Weh sabhya hain is liye kuch bolte naheen
Lakeeren unkee saree Jad kee bezubaan kahaaniyaan
Sanjoye huwe hain
Na jane kitanee mittee kee khushboo unkee moun
Akeli see kavitaaon me bandh hai
Kanhee na Kaheen, kabhee to koi Patta Bol dega
Hoth se kuch halke mere kaano me ghol dega
Tab sahayad mukti sambhav hogee.

English translation:
Each leaf I caress gently, leaves of the tree jungle
Astounded by the secrets encrypted in the lines of their green palms
Intoxicated I search relentless in them for love.
Which line represents the heart, which the worldly pleasure tavern
Who cares for whom, this knot I try and resolve.
The leaves laugh at me.
They are civilized and well behaved, that they hold their silence.
The lines on their palms hide billions of muted stories of their roots.
I do not know how many of earths - thier fragrances lie imprisoned
As lone solitary poems.
Some time somewhere one tiny leaf will speak out
Perhaps then I shall win freedom.
