Happiness Poem by Jeryn Bean

Happiness

Rating: 4.5

people spend their wholes lives,
looking for happiness,
but they never find it,
and are never truly happy.

if you spend your life looking for it, you wont find it,
because you will skip over the things that already make you happy,
you should instead look for happiness in what you have,

not what you can get.

I find a beauty and peacefulness in the things I don't have, for this leaves hope and interest to pursue. Even looking for happiness in what one already has is disastrous or mind-boggling. Really, people just need to be content knowing that they simply cannot explain or acquire many aspects of life. We are not living the lives of others because we are meant to live the lives of ourselves.

That was really good, and I agree

@Ruth, what do you mean by that?

Hey. Thanks for putting your writing out there. I can see the idea that you were going for here, but perhaps it would be better if you showed it more instead of just telling. I feel like this is more prose than poetry.

Good advice. Smaller the want, bigger the happiness.
