Happily Ever After? Poem by Walter Miring'u Nyagah

Happily Ever After?

'Could we be friends? ' she asked,
Confused, I knew not what to say,
Where I lay,
In the terrible cold in May,
I got over her day by day,
Never wanting her in my way.

But there came December,
Our love like a burnt out ember,
A time I clearly remember,
That of the singles, I was a member,
But then we spent a lot of time together,
Late nights, early mornings,
Did she tell you we had a happy hour,
Where our feelings would again flower,
And above the skies tower?
That's what reignited our power,
Life no longer was sour,
Cause I told her how much I still loved her,
And she told me how much she still loved me,
No longer emptiness in the laughter,
Days now go by faster,
She's there to wipe away my boredom,
And reignite my freedom,
I just hope we live happily ever after,
Only time will tell...

So hope for the best in the relationship 'cause you'll bear what you conceive.
