Hands On A Clock Poem by Dave Alan Walker

Hands On A Clock

Rating: 5.0

If we stop
the hands on a clock
does time stand still
in our minds
only to move again
when we restart the clock

Could we survive
in a world without time

Good question and it depends upon what type of need that we have to look for the time. For the doctors, programmers and other few critical fields time is more important.. Good poem to think!

a very Socratic issue... :) raises potentially huge questions, a pointer to action stations... a kind off rallying call...nicely done cheers

The solar system marks time so I guess it would not stop without clocks - would it stop if man ceased to exist?

Wonderful writing Dave; It's rather like the question of when we awake from a dream, do the people we were dreaming of wake up somewhere, also? What if one day, somewhere, the world awakes, and realizes that time was merely a dream, now finished? Not only would we all survive, I beleive, we'd be far better off... forever, for without time, there is no end. Very thoughtful poem.
