Hand In Hand Poem by jerry hughes

Hand In Hand

Look how they walk apart,
each to their lonely end.
Not hand in hand as lovers do.

So my darling, before distance
widens beyond reach and sight
look this way, give me your hand.

And the last to see us will say.
We saw them kiss,
then walk beautifully naked
into a sea of bright blue water.
Leaving their bodies like
old clothes upon the shore.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Great imagery in the second stanza Jerry. Also, loved the title and the romance and your clever style. Karin Anderson
