Halloween Wood Poem by Jim O'Donnell

Halloween Wood

Darkness has fallen upon this wood
With no one around me were I’m stood
The moon is out and shining bright
Here in the wood this Halloween night

The sound of twigs cracking deep in the dark
As I stand here alone in this woodland park
My heart starts racing and a shortness of breath
Panic begins to build up in my chest

I hear my name whispered into my ear
I can only stand here frozen with fear
Darkness surrounds me the moon went out of sight
Here in this woodland this Halloween night
