Halloween Treats! Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

I love halloween…not because of scares and screams…
generated by goblins and grim reapers…but these reasons:
apple cider, doughnuts, and pumpkin smiles that beam
accented by the laughter of costumed children…not demons

Spooky ghosts are only white sheets draped and swaying
in the cool autumn breeze blowing on this hallowed night
No cause for alarm…shouts that fill the darkness are saying…
Trick or Treat! Its time to fill bags full of candies that excite

If you shake nervously with fear and are distraught…relax
The last day of October is about goodies …not heart attacks
