Half Mast Poem by Max Reif

Half Mast

Rating: 5.0

The flags have been drooping at half mast
for more than a week now,
and I don't read the papers enough to know
if we're still mourning Gerald Ford or James Brown,

or some generic loss of innocence
they're finally getting around
to commemorating.

Good point about the papers Max. I think they've lost track of what counts. That loss of innocence is certainly worth mourning, and would be very worthy of recovery if possible! A thought provoking little poem Max. Thanks jim
