Half Life Poem by Sayaa Uchii

Half Life

Rating: 0.5

Wind whirling up the dust into air,
nothing survived,
nothing remained.
All that is left is you and me,
still standing on our two feet.
Life, and all that was worth living for
perished and forever lost.
Emaciated lives barely living
crossing over the borders
towards life,
or death?
Carved, layer by layer
we stand, delving into our
abdomen with our two hands
pain,
hunger,
humiliation
abandonment
capitulation.

The journey must go on
we, you and I
still standing on our two feet.
Step by step away from the dust,
Step by step away from the tears,
Step by step away from life.
