Haikus On Pregnancy (Imperfect Haikus) - Poem by Dilantha Gunawardana

Umbilical Cord

The tap root of man
Permeating the soil of a goddess
On planet womb

Womb

Two heart beats
Entrapment in a body
Resonance

Unwed Mother

Careless contraceptives
Or immaculate conception
Echoes of infamy

Father

The benevolent man
And his miraculous seed
