Haikus Poem by Michael Maxwell Steer

Haikus

Electric City
& on my own
for whatever reason

Stumbling by
railway cuttings
in dim magenta haze

Bright hopes
of yesterday
water-run & padlocked

Mouldings
raked by
lights from a passing train

a moment's
affirmation
in a wearisome existence
