Haiku Series V: Sierra Madre Homecoming Poem by Lillian Susan Thomas

Haiku Series V: Sierra Madre Homecoming

Rating: 5.0

Michoacan calls,
gathering wanderers home:
monarchs

Texas goldenrods
hide their nectar hunting,
rest stop on journey

wing flutter is lost
in clouds of orange and black,
urged to mountain tops

Mobbing milkweed,
butterflies crowd ev'ry leaf,
pearls placed underneath
