Habitation (In Answer To Margaret Atwood) Poem by Gert Strydom

Habitation (In Answer To Margaret Atwood)

Before man the first time
found sheltering,
lit a fire to burn, to cook, to destroy
he was interested in the company
of the female kind
found a place in the heart

and learned to love, to adore
even before he was forced
by the actions of his own choice
into a world of pain and bliss.
