H.O.P.E. (Having Optimistic Peripheral Eyes) Poem by Luke Easter

H.O.P.E. (Having Optimistic Peripheral Eyes)

Peripheral vision occurs outside the very center of gaze,
Unable to see the middle we continue to believe anyway,
No change in sight and thinking it's the end of your rope?
Although you can't see the promise continue having H.O.P.E.

Substance of things hoped for the evidence of things unseen,
It's the basis of 2nd Corinthians chapter four verse seventeen,
Why have hope and dreams of something that's already here?
Is there a need for glasses when the vision is perfectly clear?

What's the difference between pessimistic & optimistic sight?
A worm beneath earth in darkness opposed to a bird in flight,
This is why the latter eats the first, not the other way around,
How far in front do we see with our head buried underground?

Peripheral vision allows a glance for miracles God has worked,
This is how we get through the daily pain, suffering and/or hurt,
Don't dwell on the circumstances of wherever you currently are,
Hope helps you see close though the manifestation might be far.

Hope is when power lines are down and uprooted are the trees,
Not sipping cold drinks on sandy beaches & a warm summer breeze,
Or, there's no food, water and safe traveling due to ten feet of snow,
Even the National Guard is stuck in the New York town of Buffalo.

Options are limited in the center of a storm fighting to stay afloat,
But, which ever one you choose still will not work without hope,
The waves are rising, wind is howling, while the water is ice cold,
Satan's doing his best impression of hopelessness but don't let go.

Hurricanes, Tornados, Tsunamis, more often occurring are these,
Not just the old sickness even more deadlier & crippling disease,
Just can't seem to get a grip on life no matter how hard you try?
Yes, we truly need H.O.P.E. (Having Optimistic Peripheral Eyes.)

H.O.P.E. is twofold in its meaning by, Helping Other People Excel,
However, first you must pass the test before all others you may tell,
I use may because assistance for everyone is not something we can,
The multitude will never have faith enough to be able to understand.
