Adeline, this broke my heart! Yet, it's therapeutic. I know you had to write it, and from it surcease of any vestige of sadness. Thank you for sharing (Report) Reply

You have managed to put into words feelings which others cannot articulate but with which they can empathize. Well done! (Report) Reply

That's my country! Sadly its not in a good state now and the ending of your poem is so fitting to what's happening here. And on your comment about an Addict's Promise I am talking about the rum lol...we Guyanese like our rum although most can't hold it. In our creole: 'De brown rum does knock ya down.' (Report) Reply

Excellent vivid words tell your story through this moving poem. When we say 'I do' I feel we have no idea how hard our journey through life will be and we are a gift of ourself to our partner in love.
I feel your passion and your pain and thank God for writing! An unforgettable poem for me Adeline.
