Guru And Disciple

Guru and Disciple
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
There exists difference
Between the light of the sun
And the light of the moon
Moon is soothing
While sun is seething
Sun's presence
Annihilates darkness
Whereas moon it dissipates
Guru is like the moon
Exuding the rays
Cool and benign
And the light of love and care,
Wisdom and guidance genuine
The most intimate and purest
Is the relation that exists between
Guru and disciple
It's a bond of a kind covenant,
Capable of profound transformation
Guru sees himself
In the mirror-soul of his disciple
And disciple in the heart of his Guru
Just as darkness
The full moon softly dispels
A genuine master
Lights up the soul of a disciple

Deepak ji, I strongly support your view. The primary difference between a preacher and a Guru is that the Guru like the moon in your poem enlighten us from within whereas a preacher/teacher only provides us with information without guiding the soul of his disciple with him. Thank you for this soul searching poem.10/10
