Gun Stupidity Iv: Trigger-Happy

Knowing you have the answer,
If the need arises,
Might the need arise sooner
Than otherwise it would?
Power, strengthened by a gun,
More carelessly unleashed?

'My gun is not my arm! ' he said.

But a doubt came with his anger.
'Must I choose such a dangerous way
to make my weak arm strong,
when, in mental distress,
I might flex that arm
and make all go carelessly wrong? '

The poem is made topical by the recent shootings of children in the U.S.A. There have been too many mass shootings over there. A play on words 'arm' and 'arms=weapons', lifts the poem higher.
