Gun Fire Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Gun Fire

No peace surrounds
No real grounds
To live at an ease
Where is the peace?

Gun fire is heard
Streets come to life afterward
Enemy is silenced
But so many deaths have commenced

No blood shed is welcome
The land has become
Curse to some
Headache to wholesome

What have we gained?
It has always pained
Generation has changed
Still peace is not managed

Let hostility come to an end
Let messengers be sent
The table should be served
But truce must be observed

Let children take fresh air
And feel fair
The real sons of soil
To blossom the flower and toil
