Gumption Poem by Reason A. Poteet

Gumption

pleiades

Gumption
gifts the
graceless, the
gawkiest of girls
grub for the
grueling glory
of the gold.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
the view at the end of the race.

Pleiades is a modern poetry form (1999) created by Craig Tigerman. It has a one-word title and seven lines all starting with the same letter as the title word. There is no meter count nor rhyme required although variations will allow either or both. Pleiades is a seven-star cluster in the sky, mentioned twice in Job and in Amos 5: 8.
