Guillotined Dreams. Poem by Pooja Nepal

Guillotined Dreams.

Rating: 3.5

Like parallel lines
Are our lives
From this point
And for rest of the time
Like those railway tracks
And like those sun beams
It hurts to see
You fading away
Like every other dream…
Hard to move on
Harder still to cling unto
I let you go
But you take my breath too
I release you
But I still am chained to you
Tiered and wearied
With no strength left
To run to you
A funeral I arranged
Of those deceased dreams
A coffin of memories
I crafted
And engraved your name onto it
Six feet under
Lies that coffin
Yet it echoes a cry in frantic
A din it has resembled
Those songs of love and affection…..
Smothers my breath
Entangles my memories
Blocks my brain
And makes me break into whimpers
I cannot stand and bear
My dreams getting into guillotines
