Guarded Poem by Zane Lewis

Guarded

Watched it grow, tall with might
Felt the power,  in darkest night
Never faltered, always strong
Sang it once, once to long

The strongest, even feel the blow
The timeless tale, a night of woe
Once fearless, felt the fire
Watched the smoke, rose it higher

Felt it break, watched it fall
Tiny pieces, once was a hundred feet tall
Watched it shield, fade to grey
Behind a wall, there it lay

In a lock, never to find
Now in gloom, never a shine
Airtight, not a crack
Watch it heal, soon it's back

But once free, now it's trapped
Forever too long, feel the lapse
Forgiveness came, lost the key
Watch it here, forever it will be
