Gripes Of. Freedom Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Gripes Of. Freedom

Gripes of freedom
Like birthing pains
Tend to scare
But end in gains

No more life line
From you to me
All by myself
Ill scale the sky free

Just for so long
I have tended our nest
Just learning
To take refuge on a lone branch
Put all troubles to rest

All this time
The walls of our home
Had pictures of us together
But now they are gone.

I still remember
How you smelled
How you looked
But there is no more
Looking back
For I am off the hook

It's a process
Of cutting you off
Getting you out
Of my system
While this heart
Still sobs
