Grief - Poem by Susan Alldred Lugton

Grief,
the resounding echo
to one’s new reality.
Existing in time,
without part of one’s heart;
on the edge of self pity.

Grief,
the resounding echo
feeling, so surreal
Existing in time,
without part of one’s heart;
pain, deep, unable to feel.

Grief,
the resounding echo
tolerating days,
Existing in time
without part of one’s heart;
the mistake for which one pays.
