Grey Mournings Poem by Aria Siren

Grey Mournings

You are the color grey
Sometimes cold slate
Sometimes almost blue
But always in an in between state
And forever a staticy view

You are the color of rainy days
Of nostalgic antiquity
Of night falling on a foggy haze
Of early morning tranquility

You are neutral without a doubt
You go with everything
You are cautious of standing out
Of the consequences courage brings

You are jagged cliffs and murky lakes
Not quite dirty but not quite clean
The space between dreams and wakes
And never quite what you seem

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Don't resign yourself to grey static. Be decisive. Stand out. And take some risks :)

3rd stanza is my fav part. To me it really encapsulates the point of the poem. Also the beginning is great. The way each line adds to your understanding sucks you right in! ! ! Descriptions are good throughout (morning tranquility, murky lakes) and I like the phrase 'nostalgic antiquity'- adds a touch of eloquence.

This was great! My favorite line was: You are neutral without a doubt You go with everything This is one thing we usually love about the color grey, yet you bring out so well that its not always a good thing. Loved this poem great write! ! !

I love the feeling it gives, one of a tired anger. Profound and as always. beautiful imagery. Definitely one of my favourites
