Great Darkness Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Great Darkness

Dying of the light shall never tremble my soul
Nor quake the heart fearful nor moisten eyes with tears
For I will embrace and accept with compassion
The final engulfing darkness when it comes
Without dread of what lies beyond the grave.
There was a man from Galilee who walked on water
Was crucified for the children of Adam's salvation
Jesus Christ the Son of God, who gave the promise
That they who believe in him shall never die
And I know my soul will join him in Heaven.
Dying of the light is a new wondrous beginning
With soul not imprisoned grave deep alone
But soaring with angels in radiance and joy
Glorifying Almighty God the creator and eternal love.
