Gray Sunday Put To Good Use Poem by Lillian Susan Thomas

Gray Sunday Put To Good Use

Rating: 5.0

The yellow shade let in the gray sunlight,
Leaving a gold rim on our bodies -
Like brass vases waiting to be filled.
In that dim light we looked so much alike
It was hard to tell where you began and I ended.

Like two waves of the same storm,
Our heads hanging low,
Loosing sight of graceful curves in deep shadow,
We plunged headlong toward the shore
With a force nigh to rage
But gentle as sea-spray
Once we broke upon each other.

This is simply a gorgeous romantic poem, Lillian, beautifully well written with great emotion with fantastically outstanding and vivid imagery in virtually every line. It is quite tastefully expressed as well, a pleasure to see in our modern age of increasingly graphic expression. Carl.
