Gray Hairs Poem by Naida Nepascua Supnet

Gray Hairs

Rating: 4.3

When our hairs turn to gray
This is what I want to say
We can sit by the front yard
Everyday we can laugh hard

When our hairs turn to gray
We can watch the whole day
Our grandchildren giggle nonstop
As they jump, skip and hop

When our hairs turn to gray
With our glasses by our nose
We can still sing our song
That we used to sing along

When our hairs turn to gray
We can still hold our hands
Watch the rising and setting sun
Husband, isn't it fun?

Graying hairs, wrinkling skin
It's alright this we mean
We will stay in love and true
How we do it, there's no clue

We will age gracefully
We will live joyfully
We will make them envious
With our love we live most.

Hello, to age as we must - a privilege not enjoyed by many... cheers ... let me share this: The things which the child loves remain in the domain of the heart until old age. The most beautiful thing in life is that our souls remain hovering over the places where we once enjoyed ourselves. I am one of those who remembers those places regardless of distance or time. So glad to see someone interested in the proper rules of Haiku. The Haiku, since it is from the Japanese was written in breaths. In English it is written in syllables. The three lines are as follows: 5,7,5 syllables. Rules include: no personal pronouns and it must include a season no matter how disguised. Adeline

So wonderfully described and given such high regard as it deserves (grey hairs) And I love the way you bring the togetherness, the sharing with your husband... Just a truly deserving applause to you for it......... Jim Troy

I'm still wondering will I do when I'm already grey haired. Perhaps, find my Creator day and night then teach my grandchildren about loving Him. Great poem, sister!
