Gratitude Not

You say to the police
you've done something
that's made you a bull's-eye for who
have no compunction
in bringing down others
while trying to bring down you,

and they say, thanks very much,
now, instead of you taking it all,
when you and others are shot,
we'll cop some of the blame
for having done nothing
or enough not.

SO! now we know that Lyn Paul (see below in first comment) is a speeder on the down under highways. 'enough not' or 'not enough'? i guess, using poetic license, either one will do! if the poem is about YOUR talk with the police, maybe they don't think you are worth saving? ? i don't know you well enough (or enough well) after all! and IF this is to be a crime done on PH, maybe i'd better cease communication with you...........at least until you are dead. or are we talking about some non-lethal shot? by the way, i like the use of cop being used as a verb in a poem which also uses police. i'm glad you at least included commas to give the readers some place to take a breath. bri :) this shall go into my April Showcase on my PH site. thanks. i guess i can fit it in. who/you shot/not nice/nice

Its a tough job and they have to be suspicious of all. I am not keen though when they are out with the speed guns. There are so many more important things they could be doing. Enjoyed your words
