Grass Is Greener Poem by Shannon Kerry Tollman

Grass Is Greener

I envy the butterfly said the Caterpillar,
She so beautiful, unlike me
she so lucky eternally set free.
Her patterns explosive on her wings
voice so golden, day by day she sings.
I want the freedom,
rein it as my kingdom
i want the breeze
I'm sick of all these leaves.

I envy the Caterpillar said the butterfly.
imagine a life, without all this worry
a life where doing nothing doesn't end in a sorry.
A life where flowers don't beckon to me,
a life where I am eternally set free.
I want to sit on a leaf all day,
and someone to tell me that's perfectly okay.
I don't want to fly in all this breeze.
I just want to be me, not to freeze.
