Graphophilia* Poem by ONElia AVElar

Graphophilia*

Rating: 3.4

She read the few lines once,
took words out of their context,
enjoyed them one by one,
then put them back in place
and licked with eyes the space
between the few lines, where
bitter caramel of melted sense,
suggested meanings in low cadence,
were oozing from the terse substance
of lover's message, brief and dense.

*graphophilia - abnormal affection towards writing, handwriting, written text etc :) .

Words are words but the spaces between the words and between the lines and even behind the words and lines are much more tasteful I mean meaningful. Sometimes the best part of a writing peeps through these spaces. Wonderful poem, Onelia. Naseer

I love the way you've given this all the sensuality of chocoholia, expressed the intensity of desire and the obsessive's technique of separating each atom for delectation, making the sensations last and intensify.... and licking out the dish as well! Masterful! xx Jan

I read these few lines once then once again and wanted to go on reading them again and again.....perfectly packed poem with its oozing image invading my brain with its intense intimacy. I wanted to eat the words with my mind. I love the licking the space with the eyes and the words red hot and cooling and congealing into its amazing concept. What a great poem you have whipped up...one of your best...one of my favourites
