Grace Of Mother Poem by derrick foster

Grace Of Mother

She is a comfy couch.
In her arms we rest peacefully.
Secure in her lap we return continuously
In restful slumber we resign
Her touch wipes away
Tears, fears, and ills
Soothing wills
Her nature to nurture resonates
From heart to heart
Her gaze reassures, calms
And admonishes
With an intensity shaking the core
Of souls
She forgives with majesty of a queen
She feeds the hearth Bountifully
Her lessons benefit across
Countries, waters and universes
She is a home that
Shelters, warms, and invites
Her emotions are a pool of feelings that
Envelops, embraces and surrounds
Even as she yells her care lies beneath
She connects deeply with us
For we lived inside her Nine months
She feeds us for a lifetime.
Her willing unselfish gift was to release
Us into the world to follow
Her divine example
When we forge our own course
We are welcome to return to our comfy couch
Of a mother
Time and time
again
this is called the grace of mother
