Got Down From Up

From up I put me down,
You see I am the king,
And saw the common man
Taller than I am.

It`s not by blood, or luck
That they cope with the world.
So then what shame to me
Who had that luck attached.
No merit of my own,
But what I was born with.

Poem of the Day

poet John Gay

Friendship, as love, is but a name,
Save in a concentrated flame;
And thus, in friendships, who depend
On more than one, find not one friend.
